The Sable Island CY0 DXPEDITION Team for December 2010:

Randy Rowe – N0TG
Murray Adams - WA4DAN
Ron Oates – AA4VK

THE CY0 dxpedition has undergone several schedule changes, since initial planning began in 2009, as well as changes in the makeup of the team. Team members include WA4DAN, AA4VK, AI5P, VE1RGB, and N0TG. Everyone has contributed significantly in the planning for an operation from Sable Island.

The operational team for the planned operation between 6-13 December will consist of N0TG,AA4VK, and WA4DAN.
Gary Bartlett - VE1RGB (SACLAC) will serve as VE Contact and Team Representative in Halifax, NS.
Our appreciation is extended to Rick Harris - AI5P who was part of the operational team that attempted to go in October 2010, but was delayed due to weather conditions and issues with the aircraft.

Our focus in recent years has been DXpedition'ing. All three of us have operated individually, as well as, participated in team efforts from various DXCC countries. Murray, Ron, and I first met in 1992 and became close friends on DX-Peditions to Navassa Island (KP1) and Desecheo Island (KP5). Murray and Ron later operated together from St. Paul Island (CY9). Hopefully, there will be many more after CY0 in 2010.

In addition to the operations mentioned above, Ron was a member of the first US-Soviet DXpedition, US0SU and several rare Russian entities, Randy from KP1 in 1978 and again in 1992.   Murray operated from Mellish Reef in 1993 and Sable Island in 1996. Other locations with this same team and some individually include numerous Caribbean locations.

Rick Harris was part of the Team that attempted to go in October 2010, but experienced bad weather and issues with the readiness of the aircraft. Rick operated from more than 70 DXCC entities including Europe (30), Asia (6), North America (23) and Oceania (14).

Our goal for CY0 is to satisfy the need for as many as we can for Sable Island, whether as a new one or new band-mode combination. We would especially like to satisfy some of the demand for CY0 by the JA hams. Along with these goals it is our intention that this operation be an orderly and fun operation for all.

It is significant for each of us on the team to have been on DX-Peditions with others.  Through these associations many lifelong friendships and experiences have helped us gain abilities not otherwise possible Thank you to these fellow partners/travelers/team members with whom we have had the privilege of learning, working, and participating together in the best hobby of all:
